About Me

Hi, I'm Alvin Crespo, a software engineer and engineering leader based in Massachusetts with 15 years of experience building and scaling complex systems. I've spent most of my career working across the full stack, with deep roots in Ruby on Rails, cloud infrastructure, and distributed systems.

Over the years my focus has shifted from writing code to leading the people who write it. I care a lot about building teams where engineers can do their best work, and I find as much satisfaction in a well-run sprint or a good 1:1 as I do in a clean architecture diagram. I've had the chance to work in the health tech space, leading teams building systems that actually matter to people's lives, and that's shaped a lot of how I think about software and leadership.

Being a partner and dad of two isn't something I leave at the door when I open my laptop. It's core to who I am and it shapes how I lead, how I communicate, and why I care about building things that actually work for real people. When I'm not in meetings or deep in a codebase, I'm probably gaming, tinkering on a side project, or out with my kids chasing bugs, discovering new foods, and figuring out the world together.
